Brightworks Technology Helps North American Companies by Expanding Its Manufacturing–Again

Continuing its growth in support of international customers making exits from China, the Vietnam location opens an additional 150,000 square feet.

CARLSBAD, Calif. – January 27, 2021 –  Brightworks Technology, Inc., a global leader in providing Contract Manufacturing Services (CMS) and AC/DC power solutions to OEMs worldwide, is expanding its manufacturing footprint for a second time in as many years.

In April of 2019, the Company announced the grand opening of its second manufacturing campus in Long Khanh City, Dong Nai province, which is located in southern Vietnam. In March of 2020, the Company broke ground on its 150K square foot addition plan. Today, the Company announced that buildings are completed, operations has been cleared to take occupancy, and lines are set up and running.

With more and more U.S. and Canadian companies shifting to Vietnam as their manufacturing alternative to China, this new additional space will help those companies offset continuing tariffs and escalating labor costs in the PRC.

“The first floor of the additional 150,000 square feet will be home to our expanding number of SMT lines and will open up a significant number of additional high-volume state-of-the-art manufacturing lines at our established Long Khanh campus.  In spite of CV-19 setbacks by US retailers in 2020, our management team pressed forward with continuation of this major build-out in order to be ready when the demand pendulum swings back,” said Robert L. Carl, president of Brightworks Technology, Inc. “Our construction team and operations folks executed the plan with speed and precision and brought this building online within 9 months of groundbreaking. We are continuing to provide help for companies aggressively and effectively dealing with their strategic shift away from China – and the factory space is already filling orders.”

Brightwork’s parent company, Group Intellect Power Technology, has been operating in Vietnam since 2007, and opened its Long Khan Vietnam campus in 2019. This facility is dedicated to manufacturing high-volume consumer products, cable making, and plastics injection molding, and will house a new training center for the approximate 2,000 team members that will ultimately be working on the campus.

“Our observation in the past 9 months, since Covid has affected the world economies, is that more and more global companies have taken the opportunity–while their demand was soft–to lay the strategic tracks to shift their manufacturing strategy away from the PRC to Vietnam,” said Daniel Ma, CEO of Group Intellect Power Technology, the parent company of Brightworks Technology, Inc.  “We are honored with the increased trust global customers have placed in us as we help reduce their supply line risks.”  Mr. Ma concluded by saying, “Our capital investments in vertical integration are benefiting our customers.”
